The light energy delivered by the BBL will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen. Any area of the body can be treated. The most common areas are those exposed to the damaging effects of sun light. The most popular treatments are for the face, neck, back of hands, chest and shoulders. Usually 2-5 treatments at 2-4 weeks interval are needed. This is a non-invasive and gentle procedure with virtually no down-time. In most cases you will be able to return to work, apply makeup, and resume most of your activities right away.

After the treatment, you may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. For some pigmented lesions you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Your treated skin will feel smoother, fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable, and sun spots or uneven pigmentation will fade. BBL broadband light energy can selectively target microstructures such as hair follicles, for the treatment of unwanted hair. Your treatment will be tailored for your skin type to ensure the safest, most effective and most comfortable treatment. An integrated system for cooling your skin will be used to remove heat and should ensure a comfortable treatment. Treatment time will depend upon the area to be treated. The BBL is suitable for most skin types, except very dark skin. Tanned skin should not be treated. Please avoid tanning, using tanning products or sun exposure for at least three weeks before treatment.

BBL selectively targets the melanin in the follicles of your unwanted hairs, and heats them with infrared energy, while sparing other structures in your skin. Unlike other epilation processes, BBL treats many hairs at once, making the treatment of large areas practical, for a safe, fast, effective and gentle treatment. Usually 4-6 treatments at 6-8 weeks interval are needed. There are three phases of hair growth - anagen, catagen and telogen. As only hairs in the active growth phase, anagen, can be successfully treated each time, hence a series of treatments is needed.

After the treatment, some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated; however this should subside within a few hours. Keep the treated area clean, and use sunscreen when outdoors.

The SkinTyte procedure utilises a broadband of light energy to deeply heat dermal collagen. This process promotes partial denaturation and contraction of collagen. The heat also initiates the body's natural healing process which creates a renewed collagen foundation leading to increased skin firmness. Powerful cooling maintains the outer surface of your skin at a cool temperature before, during and after each pulse, providing a comfortable and safe procedure. A series of pulses will be repeated over the treatment area to ensure best results. Actual time of treatment will depend on the area treated.

SkinTyte is a non-invasive procedure with no downtime so you can resume regular activities immediately following treatment. You can also apply makeup and sunscreen after each treatment. The SkinTyte procedure is not a substitute for a face-lift and results may vary from person to person. It is recommended for those who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvements without having to undergo surgery. Full results often take up to four months as the collagen foundation of your skin is rebuilt and strengthened.

SkinTyte treatments are safe for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in your skin firmness is desired. Popular areas include the face, neck, abdomen and arms. A series of 2-3 treatments spaced a month apart is usually needed. No special skincare regimen is required following treatment. However, you should always protect your skin from direct sun exposure and use a good sunscreen.

The computer guided scanner sets the ideal beam overlap for perfect coverage and uniform and precise ablation of the outermost layers of the skin. If you are looking for more than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels, and have little time for a prolonged healing process from a full skin resurfacing, then MicroLaser Peel was designed for you. Generally, microdermabrasion only removes the stratum corneum (10 microns). The MicroLaser Peel is a partial to full epidermal peel (10-50 microns) and is performed with topical anaesthetic.

MicroLaser Peel treat unwanted skin conditions typical of ageing and active lifestyles. Skin conditions such as wrinkles, scars, acne scars, keratoses or pigmentary problems have been very successfully treated with MicroLaser Peel. You will experience smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin, with a significant immediate change in skin texture and tightness as compared to microdermabrasion.

MicroLaser Peel is the weekend treatment with immediate, lasting results with little time off, minimal discomfort and easy post-treatment care. Typically, the procedure is repeated 2-4 times, spaced 6-8 weeks apart. Healing takes 3-4 days. The procedure can be performed on a Thursday, so you can return to work the following Monday. Symptoms immediately following the procedure resemble a sunburn, with minor sloughing on the second day. Redness will begin to fade by the third day, and be easily covered by makeup on the fourth day.

ProFractional is a quick and comfortable laser procedure with little or no down time, used for improving the overall appearance of your skin. ProFractional uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin which are surrounded by areas of healthy, untreated skin. The zones of untreated skin invigorate the body's natural healing process, and the treated areas stimulate production of new collagen, plumping up the skin and smoothing out wrinkles, lines, scars and other irregularities. And because only a fraction of the skin is directly treated with the laser, healing time is quick and downtime is short.

If you are looking for younger looking skin, or to improve scars, wrinkles, or sun damage in a comfortable treatment with a fast recovery, then you maybe an ideal candidate. ProFractional can be used to improve a wide variety of skin conditions, but is most used for: wrinkles and fine lines, post-traumatic scars, acne scars, age spots, sun spots, freckles, and ageing and sun-damaged skin. ProFractional is a fast and comfortable procedure. A numbing cream may be applied in advance to aid in comfort during the procedure. ProFractional is typically done in a series of 1-4 treatments, spaced 3-6 weeks apart, and is often combined with the MicroLaser Peel to further enhance your treatment results. Immediately following the procedure you may experience a mild redness, resembling a light sunburn sensation. Complete healing takes only about 1-3 days and most people can get back to work and apply makeup within 1-2 days after the treatment. Your skin will be more sensitive to ultraviolet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. You should always use some level of sun protection to avoid sun damage and premature ageing of your skin.

What is the Profile vascular laser?

Profile is a new laser using infrared energy and the new standard for the treatment of many skin conditions. Profile allows your physician to precisely treat visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, lesions, and discoloration of your skin. Your treatment will be tailored to match your skin condition and desired result.

What will the Profile laser do?

Your physician will use Profile to restore your skin’s youthful color. Broken capillaries and other visible vascular structures will be gently eliminated from the visible layers of your skin’s surface. Profile has the ability to provide a treatment that is optimized to your skin condition. Unwanted lesions will be preferentially heated by the laser energy and become less noticeable, some will disappear; and pigmented lesions will greatly improve.

What areas can be treated?

All skin areas can be treated. Popular areas are the face, neck, chest and legs. Discuss your needs with your physicion.

Is there a risk?

There is little risk for the treatment of these benign comditions. In some cases repeat treatment will be necessary depending on your response to the treatment and the desired result.

How long will it take me to recover?

Your healing time will depend upon your actual treatment, and you may experience erythema (redness) which may last several days. There is virtually no recovery time and you may resume an active lifestyle immediately. Your physician can answer questions about temporary changes to your skin color and how they may be camoflaged.

What should I expect after treatment?

Some temporary redness may be present in the area that has been treated, however, this should subside within a few hours. Your skin will have a pink or red color that will resolve over time. You will need to avoid direct sun exposure, or use a sun block of at least SPF 15 when outdoors.

Will it be uncomfortable?

There is little to no discomfort, however this varies from patient to patient and depends on the depth of the treatment. There is no need for anesthesia and your physician will discuss your options to properly manage any discomfort from the treatment. There will be no posttreatment discomfort.

What will happen during the procedure?

Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. Profile's laser beam will be delivered to the area of your skin being treated. You may briefly feel a warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are preferentially absorbed in the unwanted vessels, heating and destroying them. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated.

What aftercare will I need?

It is important to follow your physician’s instructions. You may be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. This will minimize your risk for inflammation or redness and ensure the shortest response time. Any vessels or pigment denatured by the laser will be reabsorbed by your body over a period of time in a natural cleaning process. Most small capillaries will become invisible almost immediately since they will no longer contain blood flow.

Your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure. Most of the conditions treated by the laser will have been caused by sun exposure, so avoiding sunlight will prolong your new youthful appearance. You need to cover your skin or use a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors.

What is laser vein treatment?

Laser therapy is a proven treatment for treating unsightly broken and dilated vessels, as well as such other unwanted vascular lesions as rosacea, port wine stains, and other vascular birthmarks. In fact, the latest advances in laser technology have given us a method for removal that is safer, faster and more effective than previous methods.

How does laser vein treatment work?

Lasers work by emitting a specialized light that passes through the skin and is preferentially absorbed by its target, which can be an unwanted hair, birthmark, tattoo, or in this case, the hemoglobin (the red portio n of blood) in the unwanted vessels. The heat from the laser causes the vein to break up and disappear. There are several lasers available that work remarkably well in treating unwanted veins.

What can I expect with the procedure?

Most people describe laser vein treatment as feeling like the snap of a rubber band against the skin. You may be given a topical anesthetic cream to numb the area to be treated. Any discomfort can be eased with the application of cool compresses. After treatment, you can immediately return to normal activities.

How soon will I see results? Are there any side effects?

Because laser vein treatment works by causing the unwanted vein to break up and dissolve, resolution of the unwanted vein will take place over the course of several weeks. The most common side effect is bruising, or purpura, around the treated area. This will resolve within days of the treatment, and occurs only with some lasers used. Your doctor can discuss any other risks of laser surgery with you personally.

What are facial veins?

Facial veins are fine blood vessels (otherwise known as telangiectasia) located on the face, usually around the nose and central cheeks. They can be the result of cumulative sun exposure, genetics, or rosacea. Many patients also refer to these as "broken" blood vessels or capillaries.
